Deadly Crash Occurs on A30 Highway
On Thursday, 9th January, 2025, a tragic accident occurred on the A30 towards Hannover. The incident, which took place between the junctions of Bruchmuhlen and Bünde, resulted in the death of a 66-year-old driver from Melle.
According to the police, the 66-year-old was driving an Audi A4 when, for unknown reasons, he slowed down and stopped on the right lane. A 49-year-old Ukrainian truck driver, who was following behind, noticed the stopped car and switched to the left lane to avoid a collision. However, the truck driver, upon returning to the right lane, collided with the rear of the Audi's trailer.
The impact caused the Audi to spin and crash into the left concrete barrier, then the right guardrail. The driver of the Audi, unfortunately, sustained fatal injuries and passed away at the scene.
The truck driver, who was unharmed, was represented by lawyer Thomas Meyer. The Audi was towed away for further investigation, as it was damaged beyond repair.
The road was closed for the accident investigation until 11:25. The estimated material damage is approximately €27,000.
