Decentralized finance initiative supported by Trump, WLFI, prepares for listing on digital asset exchange platform LBank.

World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a new DeFi project with ties to the Trump family, is set to make its debut on the global exchange LBank on September 1, 2025, at 13:00 UTC (6:30 IST).

The project, which has raised over $500 million from the Trump family in its initial round of financing, has also secured investments from the Aqua1 Foundation from Abu Dhabi and an undisclosed UAE fund. The Trump family, along with their associated entities, hold approximately a quarter of all WLFI tokens, valued around $5 billion after token unlocks.

WLFI's ecosystem consists of two tokens: USD1, a stablecoin backed by the US dollar and collateralized by US Treasury bonds, and WLFI, the governance token. BitGo is responsible for safeguarding the USD1 stablecoin in the WLFI ecosystem.

WLFI aims to create a simple financial tool that caters to both advanced crypto users and ordinary people, such as teachers, dentists, and small business owners. The project is considered a friendly DeFi project compared to mainstream projects.

One of the key features of WLFI is its expansion to several blockchains, including Ethereum and BNB Chain, to make it easier to use and move money. The primary work of WLFI is based on Aave's lending system, one of the oldest and most reliable systems in decentralized finance.

Critics have expressed concerns about the ownership of WLFI, with insiders believed to hold most tokens and revenue rights. LBank will charge a 0.2% fee for every deposit and withdrawal in the WLFI ecosystem.

Despite these concerns, WLFI aspires to bridge the gap between DeFi and conventional finance, making it a promising addition to the growing DeFi landscape. The early institutional use of the WLFI token, as evidenced by the transfer of over $2 billion from a UAE fund to Binance, indicates a positive outlook for the project.

The launch of WLFI on LBank will be effective 24 hours after the listing. WLFI is poised to make a significant impact in the world of DeFi and finance, offering a user-friendly platform for both crypto enthusiasts and everyday users.
