Deceptive Catfish Activities Alleged by LPI-EF

On September 7, 2025, at around 7:00 AM, a chewing gum machine in Erfurt city center was broken into. The intruders removed cash and merchandise inserts from the machine, causing damage to it.

The Thuringia Police, based in Erfurt, were quick to respond. Patrol officers from the Inspectorate Service South (ID South) spotted the suspects and gave chase. However, the suspects managed to flee on bicycles.

One suspect was apprehended during the search. The apprehended suspect was identified as a 41-year-old repeat offender known to the police. He was temporarily arrested and had a small amount of methamphetamine on him. The suspect's used bicycle was also stolen.
