Celebrate National Sugar Cookie Day on July 9th or any day of the year with these colourful and delicious Strawberry Sugar Cookies! This recipe is perfect for picnics, birthday parties, or any celebration.

Making these cookies is a breeze. The recipe does not require pressing dough into thin layers or using cookie cutters, making it ideal for beginners. All you need is a few simple ingredients: all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, light or dark brown sugar, vanilla extract, egg, food coloring, granulated sugar for decoration, white chocolate chips, and white chocolate for decoration.

To start, you'll create the strawberry dough. For each cookie, 1.5 tablespoons of red dough are shaped into a ball and flattened. To add a touch of strawberry flavour, the recipe uses strawberry powder.

While the dough is chilling for 30 minutes, you can prepare the green dough for the strawberry leaves. Dye the dough with food coloring to give it a vibrant green hue. Once ready, shape the green dough into short logs to form the strawberry leaves.

After chilling, bake the cookies at 350°F for 9 to 11 minutes until the edges have set. Once out of the oven, sprinkle granulated sugar on top of each cookie.

While the cookies are cooling, melt the white chocolate and add strawberry seeds by stirring in the white chocolate with a neutral oil if it clumps. This will help the chocolate remain smooth. Use the melted white chocolate to decorate the cookies with strawberry seeds.

To create the strawberry leaves, simply press the green dough logs onto the cookies. And there you have it – adorable and tasty Strawberry Sugar Cookies!

Completed strawberry sugar cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to five days. For those who want more adorable baking, a Seashell Madeleines recipe is available.

So, gather your ingredients and get baking! These Strawberry Sugar Cookies are sure to be a hit at your next celebration. Happy baking!
