In a significant development for the safety of Dormagen's citizens, the local fire department has received a new fleet of emergency vehicles, worth approximately 2.1 million euros. The new fleet includes a universal rescue fire engine for Gohr, an ambulance, two transport vehicles for Hackenbroich and Stürzelberg, and several other specialized vehicles.

The universal rescue fire engine in Gohr is designed to accommodate up to nine emergency personnel and is seen as a crucial addition to the fire department's resources. This investment is part of a broader safety measure aimed at enhancing the fire department's capabilities.

The new ambulance is equipped with a modern stretcher, comprehensive medical equipment, and the ability for direct communication with a telemedicine doctor. This will undoubtedly improve the response time and quality of care for those in need.

On Saturday, September 23rd, the Dormagen Fire Department received a blessing for these seven new emergency vehicles in front of the historic town hall. Mayor Erik Lierenfeld stated that these new vehicles ensure the fire department is well-prepared for future scenarios.

Three of these vehicles will be stationed at the main fire station on Kieler Street. Among them is a command vehicle, which supports the leadership of the B-service and acts as an interface to the district control center. Equipped with a modern radio system, computer technology, special deployment software, an extendable light mast with a surround camera and weather station, this command vehicle is a valuable asset to the department.

Another vehicle at the main fire station is a large tank fire engine, designed for large-scale fires with a large water tank, various foam and powder loads, and powerful water cannons.

In Delhoven, a special transport vehicle with additional equipment will be stationed. This vehicle is equipped with a modern drone for site reconnaissance, a worktable for image analysis, and a rear monitor for displaying aerial images.

Mayor Erik Lierenfeld and Fire Chief Bernd Eckhardt also handed over an old command vehicle to the Dormagen DLRG. The search results do not provide information about which company or entity manufactured or delivered the new fleet of fire trucks for the Dormagen fire department.

These transport vehicles serve for the flexible transport of emergency personnel and equipment, providing a crucial link in the chain of emergency response. The new fleet, optimally tailored to the needs of its respective locations, is replacing older vehicles that are being phased out of service.

The acquisition and deployment of these new vehicles mark a significant step forward in Dormagen's emergency preparedness. Fire Chief Bernd Eckhardt stated that these new vehicles are a valuable support for the emergency services and significantly enhance the power of the fire department. This investment not only ensures the safety of Dormagen's citizens but also demonstrates the commitment of the local authorities to providing the best possible emergency services.
