Breaking News: Vuelta a España Stage 11 Neutralized Due to Pro-Palestine Protests

In a surprising turn of events, the Vuelta a España organizers have decided to neutralize Stage 11, following massive pro-Palestine protests in Bilbao. The announcement was made via race radio, and the decision was taken due to disruptions caused by protesters at the finish line.

The protests also affected the start of the stage, with the peloton stopping in the neutral zone as police moved protesters out of the road. Riders met with organizers and the UCI to discuss ongoing safety concerns due to the protests.

At the time of writing, a select group of 13 GC riders, including Jonas Vingegaard, were leading the race. However, no information about the current leading group or the winner of Stage 11 was repeated.

Television pictures showed multiple police officers standing in the road near the finish line, facing protesters holding Palestine flags. Riders did not go through the finish to end the stage, and only points for the mountain classification and the intermediate sprint will be given, not on the finish line.

Elia Viviani (Lotto), the rider CPA representative, stated that the race would continue as normal if protests remain peaceful. It's also worth mentioning that protesters caused Simone Petilli (Intermarché-Wanty) to crash during Stage 10 of the Vuelta a Espana. No information about the GC times or the mountain classification points given in the previous stage was repeated.

Stay tuned for more updates as the situation develops.
