Department store incident involving Lübke Moisling under scrutiny by police; urges for any witnesses to come forward
On Friday, August 29, 2025, an incident occurred at a charitable department store in Lübeck's August-Bebel-Straße, Moisling. According to the Police Headquarters Lübeck, a 30-year-old Syrian man allegedly insulted and threatened an employee and another customer.
The incident started when the customer was not satisfied with a refund for a previously ordered piece of furniture. A dispute ensued, and the man reportedly made sexist and racist remarks towards the female employee and another customer who tried to mediate.
The employee, a 54-year-old woman, stated that the customer had a history of verbal aggression towards store employees. Another, previously unknown customer tried to calm the situation, but was threatened by the suspect. The employee then banned the aggressive customer from the store for one year.
The police are currently looking for the suspect, who has not been publicly identified. They are also seeking witnesses, particularly the customer who was allegedly threatened on Friday. Tips regarding the incident can be submitted to 0451/1310.

On Monday, around 11:20 a.m., the police were called to the same store again, as the 30-year-old Syrian man, who was previously banned from the department store, reappeared and behaved aggressively once more.
The incident is being reported by Police Headquarters Lübeck, transmitted via news aktuell. The police urge anyone with information to come forward and help in the investigation.
