Destruction caused by graffiti: hoist machine at construction site
In a recent turn of events, the elevator at the Mainz-Kastel Bridgehead in Wiesbaden, which offers a significant advantage for mobility-impaired individuals and those using the bus stop, is set to undergo repairs due to vandalism that occurred in June.
The vandalism caused considerable damage, not only to the elevator but also to the automatic doors, leaving them severely damaged. The repair costs are estimated to be around 6,000 euros. Unfortunately, during the repair period, the operation of the elevator will not be possible.
The repair of the damaged automatic doors is expected to take approximately twelve weeks. This means that the elevator, which provides a direct, barrier-free connection between the Kransand area on the Rhine and the traffic hub at the bridgehead, will be out of service for some time.
The Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden issued a press release about the elevator, providing updates on the situation. Citizens with questions regarding the elevator can contact the responsible department or office. The elevator at the location was commissioned in August 2024. The perpetrator or perpetrators responsible for the vandalism have yet to be identified, as the search results do not specify who committed the act.
