Details of the Day's Agenda for 'Tour dementia': Activities and Initiatives for Dementia Patients and Their Families

On September 17, 2025, Bergisch Gladbach will host an action day dedicated to the topic of Dementia, in conjunction with the upcoming World Alzheimer's Day. This day promises a varied program, including lectures, exhibitions, interactive activities, and information stands.

The day will kick off with a warm welcome by First Deputy Mayor Anna Maria Scheerer and other representatives. At 10:00 AM, Chief Physician Meike Jacobsen from the EVK Bergisch Gladbach will lead a lecture titled "Dement - What Now?" at the DRK Refrather Treff. Another lecture, "Legal Representation Options in Dementia," will be held at the Market Square at 12:00 PM, led by Claudia Freudenberger from the guardianship office of the city of Bergisch Gladbach.

At the City Library, a media exhibition on the topic of dementia will be on display from September 15-27. Meanwhile, at the Volkshochschule Bergisch Gladbach, a lecture titled "Driving with Dementia - Support for Relatives and Interested Parties" is scheduled from 5:30-7:00 PM, led by Nicole Sutschet, Police Sergeant and Traffic Safety Advisor of the Accident Prevention.

A highlight of the day will be a tour titled "With All Senses" at Villa Zanders at 4:00 PM, led by curator Maike Sturm, focusing on encountering selected artworks from the exhibition "Eckart Hahn: Papiertiger". Registration for this tour is required by September 15, 2025.

The Market Square will be a hub of activity, with a portrait photo exhibition titled "The Radiance of Age" presented by Caritas RheinBerg scheduled from 2:30 PM. Additionally, information stands will be available from the same time, including the Contact Office for Care Self-Help RBK, City Library, Guardianship Office, Aging Support Office, Care Consultation Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis, ADFC Rhein-Berg, and Radwerk (Caritas).

After the welcome, the bicycle group will take a break at the Market Square around 3:25 PM. Registration is only required for the "With All Senses in Rhythm of Memory" tour at Villa Zanders by September 15, 2025.
