Dhaulagiri Multiple Campus Marks its 63rd Anniversary with Festivities
Dhaulagiri Campus Celebrates 63rd Anniversary, Highlights Education Prospects
On the 4th of Bhadra, 2082 (September 17, 2025), the Dhaulagiri Campus in Baglung celebrated its 63rd anniversary. The event, titled "Higher Education in Dhaulagiri: Prospects and Challenges," was marked by a series of speeches from various dignitaries and educational leaders.
Navaraj Shrestha, Principal of Children Life Boarding School, began the proceedings with a welcome address. This was followed by a report presentation by Dr. Dev Bahadur Kshetri on the subjects recently chosen by the students. The event also featured an interaction program on the same theme.
Dr. Mahashram Sharma, Chairperson of the National Examination Board (NEB), and Shridhar Sharma, Chief of Myagdi Multiple Campus, were among the notable personalities present at the event. They shared their insights on the current state and future of higher education in the region.
Harihar Sharma, Secretary of Nepali Congress Baglung and Deputy Mayor of Jaimini Municipality, stressed the importance of educational institutions focusing on developing students in every possible way. He was joined by Tej Bahadur Thapa 'Tilak,' Chairperson of Rastriya Janamorcha Baglung and Vice Chairperson of Kathekhola Rural Municipality, who echoed similar sentiments.
The event also saw the participation of Jagannath Acharya, Member of the Dhaulagiri Campus Management Committee, and Bhoomiraj Gautam, a teacher. They shared their views on the current state of education in Dhaulagiri and emphasized the need for improvement.
Dr. Sharma, during the event, stated that it is incorrect to claim that people go abroad because Nepal has nothing. He urged allowing students to go abroad to gain new skills, capacity, and education. He added that the reason for increasing outmigration is that Nepal has failed to create confidence that things can be achieved within the country.
Resham Shris, Principal of Dhaulagiri Deaf Residential Technical School, shared her views, although the person who gave the speech about improving education in Dhaulagiri and emphasized that it is wrong to claim that people have to leave Nepal because there is nothing here was not specified.
Asmin Sheikh, President of the Free Student Union, Dhaulagiri Campus, spoke at the event. Sudip Sagar Kandel, Former FSU President, was also present. Chabiraman Regmi, Principal of Vidyamandir Secondary School, was present at the event.
The event concluded with a call from Baglung Municipality Mayor, Basant Kumar Shrestha, to make Dhaulagiri Campus a shared institution for all. Rajan Kumar Shakyal, President of Baglung Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also spoke during the event, expressing his support for the institution.
The Dhaulagiri Campus formally began classes on Bhadra 2, 2019 B.S. (September 15, 2066), and this year's anniversary program was organized on the foundation date of the campus, which is Jestha 1, 2019 B.S., to highlight the significance of the original establishment day. Biplav Sharma, Coordinator of the BBA program at Dhaulagiri Campus, discussed the progress achieved in the BBA course during the event.
The event was published on Bhadra 4, 2082 (September 20, 2025). Tikaram Sapkota, Former Chief of Dhaulagiri Campus, also expressed his thoughts during the program. The event was a testament to the commitment of the community and educational leaders towards the development of education in Dhaulagiri.
