Dieter Hallervorden, the renowned German actor and comedian, marked his 90th birthday with a special performance at the Schlosspark Theater in Berlin. The occasion was a new adaptation and translation of Molière's classic comedy, "The Imaginary Invalid," which Hallervorden himself had adjusted for the performance.

The audience and the cast celebrated the milestone birthday with a rendition of the birthday song and hearty applause. As a touching gesture, the Schlosspark Theater presented Hallervorden with a large bouquet of flowers and a cake.

In the play, Hallervorden took on the lead role as Monsieur Argan, a character suffering from hypochondria. The comedy, directed by Philip Tiedemann, involves doctors and pharmacists constantly prescribing unnecessary medications to Monsieur Argan, drawing parallels to the present day, such as commenting on long waiting times at the doctor's office.

The performance was attended by a host of esteemed artists, including actress Katharina Thalbach, designer Harald Glööckler, actors Wolfgang Bahro and Ilja Richter, and Brigitte Grothum and Johannes Hallervorden. Sculptor Woytek designed two sculptures for the occasion, including a bronze bust of Hallervorden holding a dove.

Hallervorden, born in Dessau, has a rich history in television with sketches in "Nonstop Nonsens" and has appeared in films such as "His Last Race" and "Honey in the Head." In a brief comeback, his former comedy character "Didi" made an appearance in the play.

Previously, Hallervorden celebrated his 85th birthday on the theater stage, where he played the role of God. This latest performance of "The Imaginary Invalid" serves as a testament to his enduring love for the stage and his commitment to entertaining audiences.
