Digital Health Center Debuts in Almaty, First of Its Kind in the City
Almaty Digital Medical Center Opens in Kazakhstan
In a significant step forward for healthcare in Kazakhstan, the Almaty Digital Medical Center has officially opened its doors. This groundbreaking facility, a first in the country, is the result of a partnership between the Kazakh government and international digital health technology partners.
The center, located in Almaty, combines modern services and technology to bring advanced healthcare to the city. The renovation of several key healthcare facilities in the area is part of this initiative.
One such facility is Station No. 8 for emergency medical services, which serves approximately 200,000 residents of Alatau, Auezov, and Nauryzbai districts. The station has undergone a comprehensive renovation, including the insulation of the building, replacement of windows and doors, modernization of heating and ventilation, and enhancement of fire safety. The ambulance boxes at Station No. 8 have also been equipped with modern gates, ventilation, and energy-saving lighting.
Another renovated facility is City Polyclinic No. 3, which has undergone a significant transformation. Engineering networks, cabinets, halls, and waiting zones have all been updated. The polyclinic houses a pioneering suicide prevention psychological center for schoolchildren, the first and only one of its kind in the country, established in collaboration with UNICEF.
The polyclinic employs 500 staff, including 104 doctors, 40 of whom are specialists. A simulation center at City Polyclinic No. 3 provides training for medical personnel in emergency care and resuscitation. The center uses modern trainers and mannequins, with the help of Malaysian specialists.
The "Taukel" branch of Polyclinic No. 18 has also undergone renovation after 19 years. The renovation includes insulation of the building, updating of the facade, windows, and doors. A modern laboratory with new equipment and two new ultrasound machines have been added to the branch. The territory surrounding the branch has also been landscaped.
The Almaty Digital Medical Center offers a range of services, including an information-analytical center, a unified contact center (1312), telemedicine patient monitoring, telemedicine services, and AI-powered voice assistants. This comprehensive approach to healthcare is set to revolutionize the delivery of medical services in Almaty and beyond.
In addition, the park adjacent to City Polyclinic No. 3 has been landscaped as part of the renovation, adding to the overall aesthetic appeal of the area.
The opening of the Almaty Digital Medical Center marks a significant milestone in the digitalization of healthcare in Kazakhstan. This partnership between the government and international partners is set to bring advanced healthcare services to the people of Almaty and beyond.
