Disastrous birthday celebration: "Celebrating at ZDF"
In the upcoming comedy "Feste Feiern," viewers can expect a high-caliber ensemble featuring Victoria Trauttmansdorff, Matthias Brenner, Steffi Kühnert, and Jörg Schüttauf, alongside Helgi Schmid and Lucie Heinze. The series, which airs on the Second channel on the 8th of September at 8:15 PM, is already available in the media library.
The comedy series takes a humorous yet honest look at family gatherings, tackling issues such as debates on progressive parenting, climate change, macho remarks, and even old men's gay jokes. The story revolves around Knut, played by an unnamed actor, who finds himself in a shocking situation when he discovers he is going to be a father.
Knut, upon learning of his impending fatherhood, reacts by getting drunk alone. The party for his 40th birthday, organised by his girlfriend, Karo, becomes a chaotic affair, with relatives causing noise, shouting, and adding to the stress. The party takes place in Knut's Leipzig apartment and is attended by an eccentric little nephew, an alcoholic mother, a boastful brother, gloomy in-laws, and bickering parents, among others.
As the party unfolds, it is revealed that Karo, played by an unnamed actress, is 12 weeks pregnant and has not told Knut. She has also secretly had a prenatal test done to calculate the likelihood of the baby having a disability. The couple, who are deciding if they are still a couple, are dealing with many unresolved conflicts and repressed emotions.
The mini-dramas in "Feste Feiern" have an almost painful honesty, reminiscent of old Loriot films. The series promises to be a must-watch for those who enjoy a good laugh while also delving into the complexities of modern family dynamics. Don't miss out on "Feste Feiern" on the 8th of September at 8:15 PM on the Second channel.
