Discussion of Gatherings Held Amidst the Middle Eastern War Situation

In the heart of Berlin, on Müllerstraße and Wittenbergplatz, a rally titled "Solidarity with Palestine. Stop the Gaza Genocide - No weapons supply to Israel" took place on September 10, 2025. The event, organised under the theme of solidarity with Palestine and opposing arms shipments to Israel, attracted 170 participants.

The rally began at 17:20 and concluded around 18:15, passing without any reported incidents, apart from a few minor altercations. The peace demonstration was scheduled in local demonstration schedules and Berlin police assembly notifications, with specific organising persons or named organisations not explicitly detailed in the available sources.

During the rally, there were instances where participants attempted to obstruct the work of press representatives and reporters, as well as police officers. As a result, the rally was temporarily restricted due to the participants obstructing press and police work. Six arrests were made during the rally, and nine criminal or administrative offense proceedings were initiated.

Despite these incidents, no further rallies were restricted due to the events of the previous rally, and no further restrictions were required for the media or police during the rally. There were no instances of physical force used by police officers during the rally, although officers had to use physical force, such as pushing and grabbing, to arrest three people who violated the restrictions.

Simultaneously, another rally titled "Stop the Genocide" took place on Friedrichstraße, starting at around 15:30 with 90 participants. This rally also concluded peacefully, with no reported altercations or obstructive behaviour from participants.

The Berlin police also accompanied gatherings related to the Middle East conflict in Central and Wedding, Berlin, the day prior.

Throughout the rallies, verbal altercations and insults were reported between rally participants and media representatives, as well as among media representatives themselves. Reasons for the proceedings included displaying unconstitutional symbols, insults, and violating the assembly freedom law.

Despite these challenges, the rallies served as a powerful demonstration of solidarity and a call for peace, attracting a combined total of 260 participants in Berlin alone.
