Discussion on NDRfragt - Dialogue Formats: Exploring Interaction amongst Young Northern Germans in a Fresh Video Game-like Setup
The Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR), the public broadcaster of northern Germany, is launching a new video format called "#NDRfragt - Wie tickst Du?". This exciting new series features six young North Germans aged 23 to 39, discussing a range of topical issues affecting their region.
Each episode, which is 30 minutes long, involves discussions with experts and interactive actions. The participants come from different regions: Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and Lower Saxony.
The first two episodes are now available for preview in the digital press area of the NDR. Episode 1 focuses on security in public spaces in Hamburg-St. Georg, with 83% of those surveyed in the north wanting more police presence. Meanwhile, Episode 2 delves into the frustration of finding affordable housing in Hannover, with 77% of those surveyed by #NDRfragt believing there is not enough affordable housing.
Starting September 10th, a new episode will be released on the "NDR Info" YouTube channel every Wednesday. The episodes will air on NDR Fernsehen starting September 17th. All episodes will also be available in the ARD Mediathek from September 9th.
Participants can register at ndr.de/ndrfragt and receive invitations to new surveys via email. Members can participate in online surveys and their opinions contribute to NDR programs. It's important to note that while the survey results from #NDRfragt are not representative, they are still meaningful.
In addition to these, the series tackles various topics such as conscription, organic farming, housing shortage, social media, and vacation costs. For instance, in the third episode, the participants deal with organic and conventional agriculture in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In the fifth episode, they discuss social media and mental health in Lübeck and Heiligenhafen, Schleswig-Holstein. The sixth episode focuses on luxury item vacations.
