Discussion on our site: Interview with Natalia Haligowska, in her role as Account Director
At our agency, we believe in a comprehensive approach to onboarding our new Project Managers (PMs). Over the course of a month, they are immersed in our processes, values, and quality standards, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.
Each new PM is paired with a Buddy for seamless integration into the organisation. This mentorship programme provides a supportive environment where questions can be asked and insights shared.
Being a creative technology specialist is a key aspect of these roles. PMs are expected to apply AI solutions and other cutting-edge technologies to enhance project delivery.
The role of a PM is multifaceted. They are not only tasked with managing projects but also with being great consultants, solving client problems and fulfilling their needs. Regular touch-base meetings are beneficial for keeping the client close to the project team without slipping into micromanagement. After each discussion, meeting notes are shared with the client to ensure agreement on what was decided.
Our PMs work from the same set of core processes, templates, and reporting standards. This consistency ensures efficiency and quality across all projects. Regular cross-project reviews, 1:1 meetings, feedback sessions, and structured review points are used to maintain alignment.
Time is also regularly spent with the client, fostering a strong relationship built on open communication and collaboration. To ensure everyone remains aligned from the start, a "previously on..." recap is started at the beginning of each meeting.
Our agency values are translated into practical, measurable behaviours and embedded into yearly KPIs. Each project feels unique to the client, but the quality standards and values behind it remain consistent across the agency.
We understand that each client's needs are different, and we allow adaptation to fit these needs while maintaining consistency in quality standards and values. Knowledge-sharing sessions are implemented to allow best practices to spread organically across teams.
Account and Project Managers working with large B2B brands are expected to function as strategists, understanding market trends and analysing data to grow a business within a corporate strategy. The most important skills for these roles include structured project planning and management using modern tools, client onboarding and reporting, development of lead generation and targeted marketing strategies, monitoring progress with key performance indicators, coordinating internal and external teams, independent decision-making, strategic and analytical skills, excellent communication, team leadership, and customer relationship management.
Regular short touch-base meetings, cross-project reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions are just a few ways we maintain alignment and foster a collaborative environment at our agency. With a focus on quality, consistency, and innovation, we strive to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
