Discussions about the labor market in Kuban held at the House of Journalism in Krasnodar
In a recent roundtable discussion held at the Krasnodar House of Journalists, industry experts gathered to discuss the evolving labor market and the importance of career adaptability. The roundtable, titled "Staff: Labor Market Analysis. Who Needs to Change Profession," was led by Anna Kosareva, the director of the media center.
One of the key takeaways from the discussion was the importance of not just changing professions but also career trajectories to keep pace with the labor market. Yevgeny Dyakonov, pro-rector for educational work at KubGUTU and a candidate of technical sciences, emphasized this point, stating that by 2027, higher education systems will aim to avoid employers investing additional resources in training recent graduates with the necessary work skills.
The demand for "white-collar" professions is decreasing, according to the experts, with promising professions today found in the field of cybersecurity, as mentioned by Yevgeny Dyakonov. This shift in demand is reflected in the regional Ministry of Labor and Social Development's annual list of in-demand professions for training, headed by Elena Terekhina.
The discussion also highlighted the significance of practical experience in the eyes of employers, as noted by hh.ru analytics. According to their data, most employers value practical experience over theoretical knowledge. This trend is particularly evident in the fields of information technology, investments and consulting, procurement activities, where there is an excess of specialists.
On the other hand, there is a high demand for doctors, teachers, specialists in the agro-industrial complex, and workers in the real sector of the economy. This demand is so high that even a master's degree is often necessary to advance in one's career, as stated by Elena Smal, deputy head of the department of personnel policy and municipal service of the administration of Krasnodar.
However, the competition for the best candidates remains fierce, as Olga Levina, head of the personnel department at LLC "Business Consulting," pointed out. She noted that while some candidates possess a range of competencies, they often lack practical application.
To address this skills gap, numerous services, additional training programs, and courses are available for job seekers. As of 2023, there are 973 positions listed on this training list, with 533 for professional training and 440 for additional training.
The supply perspectives in cybersecurity, healthcare, and agriculture regarding the demand for specialists and the role of education and training were also discussed during the event. Representatives from the regions of North Caucasus, Siberia, and Southern Russia came together to share insights and strategies for meeting the demands of these growing industries.
In conclusion, the labor market is evolving, and adaptability is key for career success. Whether it's changing professions, acquiring new skills, or gaining practical experience, job seekers must be prepared to adapt to stay competitive in today's job market.
