Disputed Paternity: Chinese Man Uncovers through Genetic Testing that Neither of His Sons are Biological Offspring Following Conflict with One Son

In the eastern Chinese province of Shandong, Jiang Hongtao found himself in an unexpected predicament when DNA tests revealed that neither of his two sons, Jiang Runze and the younger son, were biologically his own.

Jiang, who married his wife in 2002, had his first son, Jiang Runze, in 2004, and his second son in 2014. However, the family's tranquillity was shattered when frequent absences from Jiang's wife led to the couple's divorce in 2022.

During the divorce proceedings, Jiang discovered that his ex-wife had kept a significant secret. In the settlement, she received all property, leaving Jiang with only a car. Despite this, Jiang took his ex-wife to court, demanding a refund of 300,000 yuan (US$42,000) for child support and education fees.

The incident that led to the DNA test occurred after one of Jiang's sons attacked him. In a dispute over living expenses, which took place after Jiang's return home with his new wife, Jiang Runze pushed and choked Jiang, stating he was not his father.

Concerned and suspicious, Jiang took Runze's toothbrush for a DNA test, which confirmed his suspicions. Further investigation revealed that Jiang Runze was fathered by the village secretary.

The revelation was not the only shock for Jiang. He also discovered that his second son was not biologically his child. The second son was later identified as his cousin's child.

Following the divorce, Jiang's ex-wife and two sons demanded his property after his remarriage in September. Jiang, now faced with a complex family situation, is navigating through the challenges that come with the unexpected truth.
