Accident at Euskirchen Intersection: Two Drivers Injured
In an unfortunate incident, a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Kessenicher Straße and Jülicher Ring in Euskirchen early on August 25th. According to the Euskirchen police's traffic accident team, a 72-year-old driver from the Rhein-Erft district ignored a red traffic light at the intersection, causing a collision with a vehicle coming from the right.
The 72-year-old driver, who was traveling on the Jülicher Ring towards Kölner Straße, and the 59-year-old driver from Euskirchen, who was traveling on Kessenicher Straße towards Euskirchen-Kessenich, were both injured in the accident. The 59-year-old driver had to be extricated from her vehicle by the fire department.
Both drivers were taken to hospitals by ambulance, and the intersection was closed until 8:55 AM due to the accident. The police from Euskirchen's traffic accident team handled the incident.
The collision resulted in significant disruption to the morning traffic in the area. The authorities urge all drivers to adhere to traffic rules and signals to ensure the safety of all road users.
