Disruption During Off-Field Dialogue with Söder in Summer Interview
In a dramatic turn of events, political art activists from the Center for Political Beauty (Zentrum für Politische Schönheit) disrupted a live-streamed interview with AfD chairwoman Alice Weidel on July 20. The incident, which occurred in Berlin's government district, took place during an ARD "summer interview" and involved a protest by approximately 20 to 30 individuals.
The action during the Weidel interview was initiated by the activists, who are led by action artist Philipp Ruch. The protesters, reportedly from the right-wing scene, attempted to disrupt the conversation with Weidel, but were swiftly stopped by a deployment unit that was already on site. The police ended the unauthorized action, temporarily detaining five troublemakers, while the others involved in the incident fled the scene.
