Disruptions and congestion occur due to nighttime operations

The Hanseatic City of Rostock has announced extensive track and catenary maintenance works in the Südstadt area, affecting several tram and bus lines from September 7 to 26.

During this period, the Rostock tramway company (RSAG) will carry out track and overhead line works in the Südstadt area. As a result, Line 5 will only run between Mecklenburger Allee and Stadthalle, with no service to Südblick and Campus Südstadt from approximately 9 PM to 1 AM on Sundays to Thursdays.

Line 3, on the other hand, will run every 30 minutes between Neuer Friedhof and Stadthalle. From Stadthalle onwards, it will continue as line 5 to Mecklenburger Allee, while inbound traffic on the Südring will be shifted to the opposite lane between Albert-Einstein-Straße and Max-Planck-Straße due to construction works.

Passengers can transfer from the tram to the replacement bus service (SEV) at the Stadthalle stop. The SEV will run between Hauptbahnhof Süd and Südblick, as well as between Hauptbahnhof Süd and Campus Südstadt. A temporary bus stop named Campus Südstadt on Albert-Einstein-Straße near the library will serve bus lines 29, 39, F1, and the SEV during the construction period.

The Campus Südstadt loop will be inaccessible to buses due to full-day construction works at the Südring track crossing. The RSAG has not announced any changes in the operation of Line 6 during the construction period.

For detailed information about served stops and departure times, passengers are advised to visit the RSAG's official website at www.rsag-online.de. It is important to note that the works will take place during evening and night hours, and no information is provided about changes in the night hours or replacement bus service for trams in the direction of Südblick and Campus Südstadt.

Line 3 will run as usual between Platz der Jugend and Dierkower Allee. The railway and overhead line works in the Südstadt area, including evening and night hours, are part of the city's extensive track and catenary maintenance, with related traffic changes managed by the Rostocker Straßenbahn AG (RSAG).
