In a series of unfortunate events, several incidents of drunk driving and road accidents have been reported across the region over the past few days.
In Aalen, a 53-year-old man sustained minor injuries after crashing his E-Scooter on Salinenstraße. The police are currently looking for witnesses who can provide information about the course of the accident on the A6 towards Nuremberg. A subsequent breathalyzer test revealed over 1.8 promille, leading to a blood test being ordered. The man, who will now have to answer for drunk driving, was found to have a strong smell of alcohol during the police's conversation with him.
On Friday afternoon, a 78-year-old VW driver collided with a 15-year-old who ran across the street from the right on Haller Straße in Kirchberg. The teenager was severely injured and taken to a hospital. The police are still investigating the incident.
Another incident occurred on the A6 towards Nuremberg between the exits Kupferzell and Schwäbisch Hall, involving a car and a truck. There are contradictory statements about the course of the accident, and the police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
On Haller Straße in Gerabronn, a 47-year-old Opel driver, who was found to be heavily intoxicated, damaged a Renault Megane and a BMW while parking. The man did not have a driver's license, and the damage caused is estimated to be several thousand euros.
On the A7 between the junctions Ellwangen and Dinkelsbühl, a 22-year-old driver of a Seat car, due to fatigue, continued straight ahead in a construction zone, causing approximately 3,500 euros in damages.
Between 1:45 PM and 6:15 PM on Saturday, a parked Audi A3 was damaged on a parking lot in the Hofwiesenstraße in Crailsheim by an unknown person.
On the same day, a 54-year-old Opel driver scraped a Renault on a parking lot in the Ringstraße in Schrozberg, left the scene, and was found to have 2.1 promille during an alcohol test. This incident is linked to another one that occurred in the evening in Gerabronn, involving the same individual.
In a separate incident on Sunday afternoon, there was a road closure and significant traffic congestion on the A7 near Fichtenau due to loose road markings. The loose road markings caused several thousand euros worth of damage to three passing vehicles, one of which was no longer roadworthy.
