Districts of Berlin Exceed COVID-19 Threshold
In the latest report from dts Nachrichtenagentur, the number of people currently infected with the coronavirus in Germany has risen to approximately 112,000, according to RKI data from Tuesday morning. This figure represents an increase of around 6,000 within one day.
Berlin, the capital city, has all its districts designated as COVID-19 risk areas. The incidence rates in Mitte, Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Tempelhof-Schöneberg, Reinickendorf, Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, and Spandau are above 100, with Neukölln having the highest incidence rate among Berlin's districts at 256.9. However, Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Pankow, Lichtenberg, Marzahn-Hellersdorf, and Treptow-Köpenick have incidence rates below 100.
Across Germany, the number of cities and districts classified as "risk areas" is rising. Several regions in western and southern Germany are affected, with a significant portion of regions in Saxony, particularly in the new federal states, also showing high infection rates. Contrastingly, the situation in northeastern Germany remains relatively relaxed.
