Disturbing confession by an Amish mother: She admits to murdering her four-year-old son by drowning in a lake and attempting to drown three other children after claiming to have communicated with God.

In a shocking turn of events, a four-year-old boy named Vincen Miller lost his life in a tragic drowning incident at Atwood Lake near Millersburg, Ohio. The local police authorities have charged Ruth Miller, Vincen's mother, with murder.

According to the Tuscarawas County Sheriff's deputies, they responded to a report of a golf cart crash at a campground in Atwood Lake on the morning of August 23. Upon arrival, they found Ruth Miller, accompanied by her two adult sons and her 15-year-old daughter.

Ruth Miller was subsequently arrested for the drowning death of her son. She has pleaded not guilty, claiming insanity. Tragically, Ruth's husband, Marcus Miller, 45, was found dead earlier in the day after reportedly jumping in the lake to 'test his faith.' His lifeless body was discovered in the same area of Atwood Lake the next morning around 8.30am. Vincen's lifeless body was found in the water around 6pm.

The Old Order Amish Church and the extended Miller family issued a statement confirming that the couple were misinterpreting passages of the Bible and that their actions do not reflect the church's teachings. They expressed their gratitude towards law enforcement and rescuers for their response and are now focusing on the 'family directly affected' by the tragedy.

The church also mentioned that they had been walking with the Miller family through their challenges, and they had also received professional help in the past.

Police believe that both Miller and her husband believed God was speaking to them and instructing them to carry out ritualistic tasks. No weapons were discovered at the Miller family's campsite, and there was no evidence of drug use. An open Bible was found at the site.

The Tuscarawas County coroner will conduct autopsies to determine the cause of death for both Marcus and Vincen Miller. The teens escaped the water on their own and were not injured in the golf cart incident.

One of the 'bizarre' beliefs Miller shared with deputies was that God told her to allow herself to be swallowed by a fish, a claim she made about her husband's death.

This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of understanding and interpreting religious texts responsibly and seeking help when needed. Our thoughts are with the Miller family and all those affected by this tragedy.
