Domestic Medical Solution Proposed by Ralf Fuhrmann in Patient Consultation Setting

Dr. Christian Schmidt, a general practitioner based in Pforzheim, has taken over the administration of the patient files of the late Ralf Fuhrmann, a former general practitioner who specialised in HIV care. Fuhrmann's practice will close on March 31, 2021, due to unresolved succession issues.

The disappearance of Fuhrmann's practice has left HIV-infected persons facing the problem of having to travel to Karlsruhe or Stuttgart for care. However, Dr. Schmidt and Timur Fuhrmann-Piontek, the spouse of Ralf Fuhrmann, have hopeful interim results.

Timur Fuhrmann-Piontek has tried to hand over the practice to new medical hands and ensure the care of HIV patients. In an effort to maintain the quality of care, Dr. Schmidt is in talks with a colleague who has the necessary additional qualifications for the care of HIV patients.

From mid-April, the colleague will reportedly offer consultation hours exclusively for HIV patients in his practice. Dr. Schmidt's practice, located within the Helios Klinikum, will also provide general practitioner care for the patients of Fuhrmann's former practice.

The patient files of Fuhrmann's practice will be handed over to Dr. Schmidt's practice in a trustworthy manner. Ralf Fuhrmann's former patients have the option to switch to Dr. Schmidt's practice and release their patient files to him, or to pick up their patient files after prior registration.

In Dr. Schmidt's practice, the patient files of Fuhrmann's former patients will be stored separately from local patients in a "two-cabinet principle" from April 1, 2021. It is important to note that Dr. Schmidt's practice is separate from the emergency room at Helios Klinikum.

The "Portalpraxis am Helios Klinikum" offers general practitioner care within the clinic, providing a convenient location for patients. However, please be aware that this post is an archived post from the website, and some contact information and appointment details may no longer be current.

As the situation develops, it is hoped that a long-term solution will be found to ensure the continued care of HIV-infected patients in the Pforzheim area.
