Downtown organization leader to face trial for alleged tax evasion

In the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia, a significant development has unfolded in the business world. The general director of a local organization named "Magistral" is standing trial for tax evasion, following an investigation that uncovered illegal actions dating back to 2019.

The investigations, conducted by employees of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) and the Federal Security Service (FSB), revealed that the suspect had evaded tax payments worth over 321 million rubles between 2019 and 2020. The evasion of tax payments was reported to have occurred in the year 2025.

The suspect is accused of creating a fictitious documentation flow with organisations that were conducting entrepreneurial activities aimlessly. Additionally, false information about the size of Value Added Tax (VAT) deductions was provided to the FTS.

On September 5, 2025, the suspect was charged with tax fraud at approximately 17:54. The criminal case was opened following the abuse of an elderly woman in the Gorodets district, which preceded the tax evasion revelations.

The investigation of the criminal case has been completed and transferred to court. An arrest has been placed on the organization's vehicles, worth 500 million rubles. The trial is due to a report by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.

This development serves as a reminder of the importance of tax compliance and the consequences of evading tax payments. The trial is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
