Downtown Stabbing Incident: Authorities, Including Prosecutors and Criminal Police, Investigating Woman's Stabbing in Downtown Area
In Lübeck, Germany, a 20-year-old woman has been remanded in custody following an alleged attack on her mother on Thursday morning. The incident occurred on August 25, with a separate attack reported on Wednesday morning.
According to the Police Directorate of Lübeck, as reported by news aktuell, the police forces took initial measures and were able to locate both the suspect and her mother at the scene. The suspect is believed to be suffering from a psychiatric illness.
The Public Prosecutor's Office Lübeck and the Homicide Commission of the Criminal Police Lübeck have initiated investigations into the attacks. The Criminal Police's Forensic Science Department was also present at the scene of the Thursday attack, securing potential evidence.
No life-threatening injuries were reported in the Thursday attack. The injured woman was taken to a hospital for treatment. The suspect was taken into police custody.
The suspect is considered a danger to the public. Both women involved in the attacks, the 20-year-old suspect and her mother, are from Lübeck and are German citizens.
