Dream Theater, an American progressive metal band, will be performing live concerts in Seoul the upcoming year.
American progressive metal band Dream Theater is set to perform in Korea from February 20-22, 2026, marking their return to the country after a three-year absence. This exciting event is part of Dream Theater's 40th anniversary tour in Asia and Australia, titled "An Evening With Dream Theater: 40th Anniversary Tour 2025."
The concerts will take place at the Blue Square SOL Travel Hall in Yongsan, central Seoul. Dream Theater gained widespread recognition with the release of their second album, "Images and Words," in 1992, which featured hits like "Pull Me Under" and "Another Day." The album was later listed among the 100 greatest metal albums of all time by Rolling Stone in 2017.
Founding member and drummer Mike Portnoy will be rejoining the band for these concerts. Portnoy, who left the band in 2010, rejoined in October 2023. Aric Improta from the band Night Verses, who is the current performing drummer, will also be part of the lineup.
These concerts are a significant milestone for Dream Theater, as they celebrate their 40th anniversary. The band was originally formed in 1985 as Majesty by three Berklee College of Music students: John Petrucci, John Myung, and Mike Portnoy. Their first album, "When Dream and Day Unite," was released in 1989, after which they changed their name to Dream Theater.
Tickets for the Dream Theater concerts in Seoul will be available from Tuesday at noon via NOL Ticket.
