Dresden initiative in search of wool for cozy baby socks

The youth welfare office in Dresden-Seidnitz has announced a wool donation drive in support of the ongoing project, "Experienced Hands Knit for Tiny Feet." This initiative, which began in 2013, involves Dresden women volunteering to knit booties and leg warmers for newborns.

The wool donation drive takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 9 am and 5 pm, at Enderstraße 59, 01277 Dresden-Seidnitz. All colors of wool suitable for knitting baby booties are welcome for the donation campaign. New wool donations can be dropped off or mailed to the youth welfare office at the same address.

All new parents in Dresden receive a non-binding offer of a conversation about their baby. As part of this, the knitted items are presented at home or during a joint walk. The Sächsische Staatsministerin für Soziales und Verbraucherschutz (Saxon State Minister for Social Affairs and Consumer Protection) is coordinating the wool collection for the project.

The wool donation drive is open for new skeins and private leftovers. The aim is to ensure the continuation of the project and support the Dresden project "Experienced hands knit for tiny feet." The donation drive will continue until the end of September, with no specific deadline mentioned in the text.

In a congratulatory letter to all new parents in the city, the mayor of Dresden expressed his support for the project and encouraged residents to participate in the wool donation drive. The project has been a successful initiative seeking more supplies, and the wool donation drive is an opportunity for the community to come together and make a difference.

So, if you have some wool suitable for knitting baby booties, consider donating it to this worthy cause. Your contribution could bring warmth and comfort to a newborn in Dresden.
