Dresden's Dynamo grants Julian Pauli loan from Cologne.

Julian Pauli, a centre-back who previously played for first-division team 1. FC Köln, has joined Dynamo Dresden on loan ahead of their Sunday match against FC Schalke 04. The 1.90m tall defender will be making his debut for the second-division newcomers.

Born in London, Pauli came through the youth academy of Fortuna Düsseldorf before moving to Borussia Dortmund and 1. FC Köln in the junior ranks. He made his professional debut with 1. FC Köln, playing 17 second-division games last season and helping them earn promotion to the Bundesliga.

Pauli's impressive performance in the previous season with an ambitious club caught the eye of Dynamo Dresden, who announced his signing ahead of their Sunday match. The defender has extended his contract with 1. FC Köln until 30 June 2028, but will be wearing the Dynamo Dresden colours for the remainder of the season.

Speaking about his move, Pauli stated that he sees optimal development opportunities at Dynamo Dresden due to Thomas Stamm's bold and attacking playing style. Dynamo Dresden's sporting director, Thomas Brendel, also stated that they want to further strengthen their squad with the signing of Pauli.

The match between Dynamo Dresden and FC Schalke 04 is scheduled for 13:30 CET. Pauli will be playing as a centre-back for Dynamo Dresden, and fans are eager to see how he will perform in his new team. Pauli made his debut for the German U20 national team in September 2024, and his addition to the Dynamo Dresden squad is expected to bolster their chances in the second division.

Pauli was signed by Dynamo Dresden from the Rhine, a reference to the Rhine River that flows through Cologne, Germany, where 1. FC Köln is based. Fans of both teams are looking forward to the exciting matchup between Pauli and his former club, as he embarks on a new chapter in his football career with Dynamo Dresden.
