Dresden's start-up landscape expands with the emergence of ExciteLab

New Tech Hub in Dresden: The ExciteLab

The ExciteLab, a new space for creative-tech know-how and young companies, is set to open in Dresden. This innovative hub is a collaboration between Leipzig SpinLab and the Technical University of Dresden (TU Dresden).

The ExciteLab's primary goal is to drive the overall competitiveness of the region by bringing science and industry together more effectively. It aims to enhance Dresden's attractiveness and visibility for international talents and investors, making it a more attractive location for younger companies.

The ExciteLab's Accelerator program is at the heart of this initiative. This program provides access to the start-up community and partner networks, including leading companies such as Infineon, Mazars, and ZEISS. The program offers one-on-one mentoring, free or discounted participation in industry events, and funding of 6,000 euros or more.

The Accelerator program focuses on key technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), semiconductors, robotics, sensors, and quantum computing. It also includes exciting pilot programs.

Applications for the Accelerator program are accepted until August 27, 2024, with the program set to begin in October 2024. The ExciteLab is another location advantage that makes Dresden more attractive for younger companies.

The ExciteLab is part of TUD|excite - the Center of Excellence for Innovation, Transfer, and Entrepreneurship at TU Dresden. It is embedded within the university's framework of excellence initiatives, specifically under the strategic initiative "TUD 2028 - Synergy and beyond".

The ExciteLab is specifically designed to support high-tech start-ups, offering a supportive environment for innovation and growth. It is a testament to Dresden's commitment to fostering a vibrant tech ecosystem and attracting top talent.
