Driver under influence (27 years) instigates severe car collision in the forest
In the early hours of Sunday, October 13, a significant traffic accident occurred on Focherstraße in Wald, Germany. The incident took place around 2:01 AM.
The accident involved a car driven by a 27-year-old man, who reportedly was heavily under the influence of alcohol. The vehicle veered off the road and collided with a parked car at house number 36, causing it to flip over and land on its side.
Fortunately, the driver sustained only minor injuries, and his passenger remained unharmed. The driver was quickly freed from the car by passersby who rushed to help. The 27-year-old passenger was able to free himself from the car as well.
The impact of the collision pushed another vehicle into another parked car, resulting in two cars needing to be towed away. A bottle of high-percentage alcohol was found in the car involved in the accident.
The accident caused a disruption on Focherstraße, with the road being closed for a longer period due to the investigation. However, due to the late hour, there were no significant traffic disruptions. Focherstraße towards Zentral in Wald was the location of the accident.
The police secured the driver's license of the man involved in the accident that same night. The name of the driver has not been publicly disclosed. The total damage to the vehicles was approximately 25,000 euros.
The accident investigation caused a further disruption on Focherstraße, but the scene was cleared later in the day, allowing traffic to resume as usual. The authorities are still investigating the details of the accident.
