The United States Interdiction Coordinator (USIC) Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building at the White House, recognised ten individuals and task forces for their exceptional efforts in the nation's fight against drug trafficking.

Special Advisor Sara Carter and U.S. Interdiction Coordinator Shannon Kelly presided over the ceremony, emphasising the Administration's stance against the flow of illicit drugs into the United States. The ceremony sent a clear message that the White House is committed to combating the illegal drug trade.

Among the honourees were the Bitcoin Fog Government Trial Team, who were praised for dismantling one of the internet's oldest and most notorious cryptocurrency mixing services. This service, responsible for laundering over $300 million for darknet drug traffickers, has been taken offline, thanks to the team's hard work, creativity, and dedication to defending America.

The CBP Fentanyl Canine Detection Training Team was also recognised for their significant contribution. They developed a revolutionary program that has led to a staggering 860% increase in fentanyl seizures at U.S. ports of entry.

The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Munro and its embarked Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron (HITRON) Detachment were honoured for their daring maritime operation, resulting in the seizure of over 3,200 kilograms of cocaine.

U.S. Interdiction Coordinator Shannon Kelly praised the honourees for their bravery, dedication, and impact on American communities. She highlighted that every seizure and arrest during the honoured operations have a real-world impact, saving countless lives.

Sara Carter stated that the Administration has chosen a proactive and aggressive stance against drug trafficking. The ceremony reiterated the White House's commitment to taking a proactive stance against the scourge of illegal drugs.

The USIC Awards celebrate the full spectrum of interdiction efforts, including complex cyber investigations and high-risk maritime operations. The success of these operations is built on partnership, with the ability to operate as one unified force being the greatest strategic advantage.

In conclusion, the USIC Awards ceremony was a testament to the hard work and dedication of individuals and task forces who are on the front lines of America's fight against drug trafficking. Their efforts are making a real difference, saving lives and making America safer for all.
