Eight decades of constructing enterprises - a triumphant narrative

In the heart of Germany, Bendl Construction, a pioneering force in sustainable construction, is gearing up for a momentous occasion. Founded in 1975 by Margot and Harry Bendl, the company continues the legacy of Bendl & Dรถlker, and on July 19, they will celebrate their anniversary with a grand event for employees and their families.

The company's roots run deep, with Peter Finkel, the managing partner since 2023, beginning his journey at Bendl 15 years ago. Finkel, who has been a managing director since 2021, is responsible for the technical and commercial aspects of the operational business.

Bendl Construction's commitment to sustainability is evident in its long-standing development of eco-friendly construction systems and building materials. For decades, they have been at the forefront of innovation, creating carbon concrete and exploring the use of paludi materials, plant-based materials like reeds and bulrushes.

One of their most notable achievements is the "Cube", a pilot project constructed entirely from non-metallic reinforced concrete, a result of Bendl's collaboration with the Technical University of Dresden. The company also constructed the region's first ready-mix concrete plant and established its own gravel pit.

Stefan Wiedemann, a visionary and pace-setter in Bendl Construction, emphasizes the implementation of every project in an energy-efficient and economically viable manner. Wiedemann's goal is to create structures that set new standards - economically, ecologically, and socially.

Bendl is not just about construction; it's about innovation. The company invests heavily in research on sustainable building materials and innovative techniques. This forward-thinking approach is evident in "Kreaplan", a new planning office under the Bendl roof, which will officially open its doors to the public on July 20.

The journey for Bendl Construction has not been without challenges. The company faced initial hurdles such as high inflation, low demand, and a difficult economic environment. However, they persevered, and the areas of "Outdoor Facilities" and "Turnkey Construction" became permanent parts of their portfolio.

Sustainable building does not have to be more expensive or complicated, according to Wiedemann. In fact, Bendl Construction's mission is to prove that it can be both affordable and efficient. This philosophy is reflected in their work, which includes an order from the city of Gรผnzburg for sewer work that provided the crucial starting impetus for the company.

Bendl Construction is also committed to the economy of the common good, moving away from a purely profit-oriented approach. They strive to create structures that not only serve their purpose but also benefit the community and the environment.

As Bendl Construction looks towards the future, they continue to push the boundaries of sustainable construction. Under the leadership of Gunnar Stary, the company bendl HTS, a sister company in Saxony, has become an expansion of the company and a bridge to the field of research and innovation.

With a firm commitment to sustainability, innovation, and community, Bendl Construction is poised to continue making a positive impact in the construction industry. Their anniversary celebration on July 19 is not just a celebration of their past achievements, but a promise of a sustainable and innovative future.
