Police in the area are urgently seeking witnesses following a robbery that occurred in a row house on StraΓe Am Staatsforst on Monday between 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM.
The incident involved an 85-year-old resident who was visited by a man claiming to be a handyman. The man, described as heavyset, round-faced, and with tattoos on his arms, one arm being tattooed up to the wrist, entered the residence and was accompanied by a second man. This second man physically restrained the senior citizen and silenced her with duct tape.
The man spoke fluent German and was dressed in dark clothing. The described man is estimated to be between 20 to 30 years old and is approximately 1.70 meters tall.
During the robbery, the perpetrators attempted to open the resident's safe using a cutoff saw. However, their plans were thwarted when the resident's phone rang, prompting the robbers to flee the scene.
The 85-year-old resident sustained minor injuries from being bound and was able to provide a description of one of the men. No information is provided about the identity or whereabouts of the perpetrators.
The police are asking for the public's help in gathering information. Anyone with information about suspected handyman activities or observations of the men arriving or fleeing by vehicle is asked to contact KK 13 of the police at telephone number 0211-8700.
