Yesterday afternoon, an 84-year-old man was robbed in Schöneberg, Berlin. The incident occurred around 3:35 PM in an apartment building on Kleiststraße.

According to the police, the elderly man was in the elevator with his wife, an 80-year-old woman, when an unknown young man entered. The suspect tore a chain from the man's neck, assaulted him, and fled the building.

The suspect is reported to have struck the elderly man on the head and kicked him in the body before making his escape. As a result, the man suffered bruises and skin abrasions on his upper body and was taken to a hospital for further treatment. Fortunately, his wife did not require immediate medical attention.

The police directorate 4 (South) is handling the investigation, with a specialized commission for robbery offenses involved. The investigation is ongoing by a specialized robbery unit of the Berlin police.

Alerted rescue services were involved in the incident, and no arrests have been made as of the current investigation. The police are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward.

The suspect in the Schöneberg robbery case is currently under investigation for physical assault, in addition to the robbery. The police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect and bringing him to justice.
