In the small town of Geesthacht, district of Herzogtum Lauenburg, an unfortunate incident took place on August 26, 2025. An 86-year-old woman went missing during the midday hours, and her disappearance led to immediate search efforts by the local police.
The woman was reported missing by her relative to the police on the same day. Initial search efforts were unsuccessful, but later in the day, a passerby reported a lifeless person in the Elbe water near Werfstraße. The missing woman was found deceased in the water.
A rescue operation was carried out, and the woman's death was confirmed on August 26, 2025. As of now, there is no indication of foul play in her death.
