Electric Vehicle: SUV Category Victory at iF Design Awards goes to Fisker Ocean

The Fisker Ocean Extreme, the latest offering from Fisker Inc., has made a significant splash in the automotive world, winning the "Best Electric Vehicle: SUV" category at the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2024.

The Fisker Ocean, designed in California and set to be produced in a carbon-neutral plant in Europe, was assessed by a world-class jury of 132 independent design experts. The vehicle excelled in both the Form and Function assessments, demonstrating its commitment to both aesthetic appeal and practicality.

The Fisker Ocean Extreme is a mid-size SUV and is priced in a comparable segment. It stands out for its beautiful craftsmanship, ingenious engineering, innovation, affordability, and world-class durability, as stated by Henrik Fisker, Chairman and CEO of Fisker Inc. The Ocean's unique combination of sustainability, emotional design, and simple, intuitive SUV function was recognised by the iF DESIGN AWARD jury.

The Fisker Ocean Extreme is built with a focus on sustainability. It uses over 110 lbs. / 50 kg. of recycled and bio-based materials in its construction. The vehicle is also built at a carbon-neutral facility, and its rooftop solar panels add up to 1,500 miles/2400 km per year of range, based on Fisker simulations.

The Fisker Ocean Extreme's long-range capabilities and sustainability features have earned it the title of the vehicle with the lowest carbon footprint among any electric SUV. In the United States, the Fisker Ocean Extreme has an EPA-estimated range of 360 miles, making it the SUV with the longest range in its segment. On the European market, it boasts a WLTP range of 439 miles / 707 km, once again leading its segment.

The iF DESIGN AWARD is an internationally recognized seal of quality awarded by iF International Forum Design GmbH. This year, almost 11,000 entries from 72 countries were received for the award, making the recognition even more significant.
