In an innovative move, the City of Stuttgart has launched the "Stuttgart Steigt Um" campaign to promote sustainable mobility and the use of the Stäffele footpaths. These repurposed old vineyard staircases, originally built in the mid-19th century, are an integral part of Stuttgart's cityscape for pedestrians and an essential element of the city's transportation infrastructure.

With over 400 Stäffele spanning around 30 kilometers, these unique footpaths offer more than just a practical mode of transportation. They provide spectacular views, encourage mindful exploration, and promote exercise, all while saving time.

The campaign, with the motto "You are Stuttgart. You walk Stäffele," aims to change the perception of Stäffele from mere shortcuts to an integral part of the city. To further celebrate the Stäffele, Stäffeles Day will take place on Saturday, September 27th, at Eugenplatz.
