Youth Fire Brigade of Lennestadt Conducts Large-Scale Exercise at Linn Engineering

On May 10, 2025, the youth fire brigade of Lennestadt held a significant training exercise at Linn Engineering in Oedingen. Around 50 young people from all four deployment areas of the city participated in the event, which aimed to simulate a fire incident with rescue operations under realistic conditions.

Upon arrival, the rescue of the missing persons was the top priority. The assumed scenario was a fire in the rear part of the warehouse with two missing individuals. The young firefighters, equipped with exercise breathing apparatus, quickly located and brought the missing persons to safety.

The burning container behind the building posed a threat of spreading to an adjacent forest, but this was effectively prevented through targeted measures of the fire-fighting groups. The water supply was ensured both from the water tank carried along by the vehicles and from a nearby pond.

The fire was eventually extinguished inside the hall. The responsible persons were very satisfied with the course and the commitment of the young emergency services. The rescued persons were brought to a patient collection point, where the youth fire brigade independently took over the patient care.

The exercise was supported by Linn Engineering, who provided the training location. Unfortunately, the name of the CEO or project leader who facilitated the event remains unavailable.
