Emergency Response: DOLL administers first aid on the 7th motorway, located near the hotel district

On September 2, 2025, a significant incident occurred on Federal Highway 7 near Hotteln, in the direction of Hannover. The accident involved two cars and a truck, presumably due to an unsuccessful lane change and inappropriate speed.

When the customs officers from the Braunschweig Customs Office arrived at the scene, they found two injured drivers and a truck with hazard lights on, which had stopped on the hard shoulder. No emergency services were initially on site, but they arrived shortly afterwards.

Customs Officer Andreas MΓΌcke, who was responsible for initiating the emergency call, and his colleague from the Financial Control Black Work department, played a crucial role in the rescue operation. Using road and special rights, they reached the accident site and immediately blocked the right lane to ensure safety.

Upon arriving, they provided first aid to one of the drivers before making an emergency call. A doctor and two ambulances soon arrived, making a total of 20 emergency services present.

The highway police temporarily closed the entire highway to manage the situation effectively. Shortly after, the bomb disposal unit passed by and blocked another part of the highway to take care of the driver of the other crashed vehicle.

After almost two hours, the first lane of the highway was reopened. The customs officers, along with the customs officer from the Financial Control Black Work department, did not return to Hildesheim after the incident, but instead continued their duties.

The Braunschweig Customs Office team, which included two customs officers and a customs officer from the Financial Control Black Work department, discovered one of the crashed cars with shattered windows.
