Encourages artistic ceramics via European financial support, as per Talavera
In the heart of Spain, the city of Toledo played host to the CeraMIX course, a captivating event dedicated to the art of ceramics. This unique workshop was organised by the City Council of Talavera de la Reina, in collaboration with the European Union's Next Generation Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
The CeraMIX course, part of the CeraMIX program promoted by the Spanish Association of Ceramic Cities, took place at CerΓ‘mica Vodre, a renowned workshop specialising in Mexican and Spanish ceramics. Attendees had the opportunity to work with clay on the wheel and manual modeling, and even delve into ceramic glazing techniques.
Participants praised the time and dedication required for each stage of the ceramic work, from initial modeling to the final finish after firing. Many expressed their desire to return to decorate and finish their pieces, demonstrating the lasting impact of the CeraMIX course.
City councilor for Craftsmanship and Tourism of Talavera de la Reina, Gelen Delgado, was also among the attendees. As a registered user of the platform where this functionality is available, Gelen Delgado was able to fully immerse himself in the creative experience.
The CeraMIX program, with its focus on ceramics, reinforces the idea that Talavera ceramics are a living and constantly evolving craft. The success of the CeraMIX course in Toledo has set the stage for future workshops, as Formnext, a central information platform and trade show for industrial additive manufacturing, plans to offer more events related to advanced manufacturing technologies.
Access to the CeraMIX course is available only to subscribers, making it an exclusive opportunity for those passionate about ceramics. The participants were deeply impressed by the creative experience, and many are eager to return to continue their ceramic journey.
