Energy providers Octopus Energy and Aira introduce a heat pump tariff, promising potential savings of up to £500 each year for households.
In a significant step forward for the clean energy transition, Aira, a leading innovator in air-water heat pumps, has partnered with Octopus Energy to launch two new energy tariffs for customers using Aira heat pumps.
The new tariffs, known as Aira Zero, aim to counter rising energy prices for Aira heat pump customers. These tariffs offer households the potential to save up to £1245 annually on energy bills, according to Aira's claims.
Aira Zero allows heat pump customers to save up to £500 annually on energy bills compared to a gas boiler. Households with an Aira Heat Pump can save up to 33% on their energy costs through the Aira Zero tariff.
The tariff offers eight hours each day at a 51% discounted rate compared to the local day rate. Additionally, the fixed rate for selling surplus electricity to the grid is 15p/kWh.
Aira's native integration with the tariff allows for seamless heat pump optimization, offering customers maximum cost savings. The tariffs are available on both fixed and flex rates, providing flexibility to customers.
The flexed rate allows customers to sell surplus solar powered electricity back to the grid when wholesale prices are high. Aira also claims households can save up to 44% on energy costs when adding solar panels and the Aira Solar Export tariff.
Octopus Energy, known for its dynamic electricity tariffs and heat pump tariff, offers several energy tariffs. Customers can qualify for these tariffs by digitally submitting credit applications. They may also benefit from personalized on-site consultations for new or existing buildings, as well as free subsidy services.
This partnership offers a combined provision of heat pump technologies and energy supply with flexible financing and installation services. Aira's mission is to take Europe off gas by accelerating the electrification of home heating.
Heat pump tariffs can lower bills by ensuring homeowners benefit at times when renewable output is high or when there is lower demand on the electricity grid. Heat pump tariffs offer cheaper unit rates for homeowners with heat pumps and reductions in rates during specific times of the day.
Aira aims to continue expanding its ecosystem and developing future collaborations to bring more clean energy-tech solutions to the market. To qualify for the Aira Zero tariff, you need to own an air source heat pump.
This partnership between Aira and Octopus Energy is a significant step towards a cleaner, more sustainable future for home heating.
