Enhanced capabilities at Apple Intelligence include Image Playground, improved Genmoji, refined Writing Tools, smooth ChatGPT integration, and visual intelligence enhancements.

Apple Intelligence, the latest update from Apple, is now available as a free software update for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users outside mainland China and the European Union. This update includes a range of new features that aim to enhance the user experience.

One of the key features of Apple Intelligence is Image Playground, which allows users to create fun and unique images with themes, costumes, accessories, and places. Another exciting addition is Genmoji, a feature that enables users to create personalized emojis inspired by friends or family members, customizable with various accessories and themes.

The update also brings improvements to Writing Tools, with the introduction of the new Describe Your Change option. This feature gives users more flexibility and control when they'd like to make their writing sound more expressive.

Apple Intelligence also integrates ChatGPT, providing users with access to its expertise and image- and document-understanding capabilities systemwide across Apple and many third-party apps. Users can choose whether to enable ChatGPT integration and are in full control of when to use it and what information is shared with ChatGPT. By default, a ChatGPT account is not required to use this integration.

Visual Intelligence is another significant feature of Apple Intelligence. It allows users to learn about objects and places instantly, thanks to the new Camera Control on the iPhone 16 lineup. This feature can summarise and copy text, translate text between languages, detect phone numbers or email addresses, and more.

In addition, the Notes app now includes Image Wand, a feature that transforms rough sketches into polished images by circling them and using on-device generative models to analyse the surrounding text. Users can create images with the Animation, Illustration, and Sketch style in Image Wand.

Siri also gains new capabilities with Apple Intelligence, including onscreen awareness and the ability to take hundreds of new actions in and across Apple and third-party apps in the future.

Starting in April, Apple Intelligence features will start to roll out to iPhone and iPad users in the EU. Mac users in the EU can access Apple Intelligence when using a compatible device with supported settings and languages.

Apple Intelligence is available in regions with device and Siri language set to localized English for Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the U.K., or the U.S. Genmoji creation will be available on Mac in the coming months.
