Ensemble of Female Artists Performing Waltz Tunes During Cultural Festival
News Article: "Wanderklang" Ensemble Brings Classical Music to the Outdoors in Arnsberg
This August, a unique musical event is taking place in the picturesque town of Arnsberg, Germany. Four professional musicians, collectively known as the "Wanderklang" ensemble, will embark on a multi-day hike through the town from August 19th to 24th. The tour culminates in a closing concert on August 24th at 5 PM in the Auferstehungskirche on the Neumarkt.
The ensemble, which began its journey in 2023, aims to open up a new audience for classical music and to liberate concerts from rigid structures. They offer a unique auditory and sonic experience, combining a soprano voice with a string trio.
The musical hiking project, now known as "Ensemble Unterwegs", has developed into a long-term intensive collaboration. The musicians will carry their instruments – violin, viola, cello, and a soprano voice – throughout their journey.
The concerts are not bound to strict structures, allowing for a more personal and spontaneous musical experience. Admission and seat selection for the closing concert are free, but the number of seats is limited.
Throughout their tour, the ensemble will appear in various locations throughout the city, some planned and some spontaneous. On August 19th, the opening concert takes place at Wildwald Vosswinkel at 3:30 PM. On August 20th, the ensemble will stop at the monastery of Oelinghausen.
The ensemble holds German folk songs in high regard, seeing them as a cultural heritage worth preserving. They aim to keep alive regional dialect songs that are at risk of being forgotten.
More information about the ensemble and their tour can be found at www.our website/cultural summer and www.ensemble-unterwegs.de. The concerts feature well-known art songs by composers such as Schubert, Strauss, Mahler, or Britten, as well as lesser-known repertoire.
The collaboration has received increased attention, steadily growing audience interest, and extensive media coverage in print and TV. Don't miss this opportunity to experience classical music in a whole new light! The closing concert on August 24th at 5 PM in the Auferstehungskirche is not to be missed.
