Esports World Cup 2025: Karmine Corp Triumphs in Rocket League, Weibo Gaming Shines Across Multiple Titles

The 2025 Esports World Cup has come to a thrilling conclusion, with several standout performances across various games. One of the most notable victories came from Karmine Corp, who clinched the Rocket League competition in a near-perfect grand final showing.

Karmine Corp, a European powerhouse, had an unbeaten run throughout the tournament, culminating in a 4-1 victory over Geekay Esports in the grand final. Their victory earned them a prize of $400,000, adding to their growing esports success.

Meanwhile, Weibo Gaming from China made a significant impact at the event, securing titles in Teamfight Tactics and PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. In the Teamfight Tactics grand final, they outplayed Virtus.pro 3-1, while in PUBG, Twisted Minds emerged victorious.

Virtus.pro, despite their defeat in Teamfight Tactics, built a reputation as giant slayers, knocking out both EWC 24 grand final sides on their way. They narrowly missed out on the Teamfight Tactics title, but their impressive run has cemented them as a force to be reckoned with.

Twisted Minds, who had been knocked out in the group stage at EWC 24, ended the tournament on a high with back-to-back PUBG Global Series Finals wins. They currently share fourth place in the Club Championship with Virtus.pro, still in contention for the title. However, they face a tough challenge, as they would need to claim the title in Counter-Strike 2, and Team Falcons would need to gain zero points in Week 7, as well as Team Liquid picking up fewer than 600 points.

Team Falcons, the reigning Club Championship holders, are currently in first place after a positive Week 6, with two third-place finishes in PUBG and Rocket League. They will be looking to maintain their form in the upcoming Week 7, where they will compete in all three games.

Outside of the top two, Team Liquid is in second place and will compete in all three games in Week 7, potentially closing the gap with Team Falcons. If they perform well, they could potentially challenge for the Club Championship.

One of the standout individual performances came from Claude Eric "Hurricane" Diboti, a Cameroonian-born UK Street Fighter competitor for Wolves Esports. He won all nine of his games in the Street Fighter 6 EWC Last Chance Qualifier without losing a single set, showcasing his incredible skill and determination.

In the TEKKEN 8 competition, Lim "Ulsan" Soo-hoon from South Korea defended his title, defeating Yoon "LowHigh" Sun-woong in the grand final. Ulsan, playing for DN Freecs, won the tournament for the second consecutive year, marking a remarkable achievement in his career.

Weibo Gaming had a tough run at the start of the event but quickly became one of the standout teams as the event progressed. Their resilience and determination paid off, as they claimed multiple titles and proved themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the world of esports.

The Esports World Cup 2025 has been a thrilling event, showcasing the best of the best in various games. As we look forward to next year's tournament, it's clear that the competition will only get tougher, with teams and players pushing each other to new heights.
