Ethereum Proof-of-Stake (PoS) Transition is being urged by Aave to its members for a shift.
In the rapidly evolving world of cryptocurrency, the Aave team has made a significant announcement. They find it impossible to sustain a viable Aave Market on any Ethereum fork running an alternative consensus, such as Proof of Work. This decision comes as the Ethereum community prepares for the highly anticipated Merge, scheduled tentatively for September 15.
The Aave Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (AaveDAO) has taken additional steps to ensure their commitment to the Ethereum PoS merge. The Aave Request for Comment (ARC) has been called, encouraging token holders to participate in this important decision-making process. The ARC aims to establish AaveDAO deployment on the Ethereum mainnet with Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus as the Canonical governance.
The ARC also grants the Community Guardian authority to prevent deployment on any other possible forked chains from Ethereum Merge. This move is intended to send a clear signal to the DeFi ecosystem about AaveDAO's stance regarding the Ethereum merge.
Meanwhile, several crypto firms and DeFi protocols anticipate another hard fork after the Ethereum Merge. This potential hard fork could split Ethereum blockchains into two different chains, most likely with PoS and PoW consensus. Notable companies like Coinbase, Circle, and Tether have started building infrastructure to support forked tokens and consensus on Ethereum. However, specific information about other firms developing infrastructure to support possible Ethereum blockchain splits and different consensus systems remains scarce.
As the Ethereum Merge approaches, the decisions made by AaveDAO and other key players in the crypto space will shape the future of decentralised finance (DeFi) on the Ethereum network. Stay tuned for more updates as this story continues to unfold.
