Get ready for an exciting day in nature! The 23rd Forest Experience Day will take place on September 7, 2025, in the picturesque Israelsdorf area of LĂźbeck city forest. This annual event, organised by the LĂźbeck Forestry Office, promises a fun-filled day for all ages, with a focus on sustainable forest management and current challenges.
The event, running from 10 am to 5 pm, offers a unique opportunity to explore the forest and learn more about its ecosystems. A 600-meter loop around the Katharineumswiese and an extended 1.7-kilometer route to the Camp Tilgenkrug will be filled with numerous exhibitors, providing insights into various aspects of forestry.
One of the popular offerings at the event is tree climbing with PlanB. For those who prefer a more leisurely pace, there's a hammock island in the forest, a small stage program on the forest stage, and interactive activities throughout the day.
Arne Brahmstaedt and his cold-blooded horses will give demonstrations, adding an extra touch of excitement to the day. Food and drinks will be provided by the German Forest Youth, Verein Gemeinsam Buddeln, and Hanse-Obst, ensuring that visitors stay energised throughout the day.
New additions to the program this year include an electric chainsaw carver, showcasing their skills in creating unique art pieces from wood. Wild sausage, cake, and fresh juice from their own harvest will also be available for purchase.
To make your journey easier, a shuttle bus route has been arranged. The route includes GlashĂźttenweg (Aldi parking lot) - An der HĂźlshorst - Am Schellbruck - MedebekstraĂe - WaldstraĂe - Eichenweg - Eichenweg/Corner Gothmunder Weg. Due to limited parking in Israelsdorf, it is recommended to use public transportation or the free shuttle bus. The shuttle bus operates from 9:15 am to 5:30 pm.
For those who want a bird's-eye view of the treetops, a lift will be available, offering a unique perspective of the forest. The city forest team's stands will focus on topics such as the near-natural forest concept, importance of dead wood, waste prevention in the forest, and sensory experiences in nature.
The program for the event includes expert information about forest ecosystems, performances, and interactive activities, making it a day full of learning and fun. Best of all, admission to the event is free, so mark your calendars for September 7, 2025, and join us for a day in the LĂźbeck city forest!
