EU Parliaments Obligation to Inform the European Parliament and Council on the Outcomes of their Respective Works

The vhs Bamberg City Adult Education Center is gearing up for an engaging and diverse winter semester, starting from September 2025. Registrations for the various courses, lectures, and events commence on Wednesday, September 3rd.

Highlights of the semester include the official opening ceremony, scheduled for Sunday, September 21st, at 11 am in the Great Hall of the Old E-Work. Notable figure John von Duffel, the new intendant of the ETA Hoffmann Theater, will grace the event, accompanied by music from Bamberg composer Jochen Neurath, the winner of the 2025 Culture Promotion Prize.

The semester officially begins on September 22nd, with a total of 15 languages available for learning in 134 courses. Interested parties can look forward to a wide range of topics, from craft techniques like macrame, felting, or leatherwork, to painting and drawing courses, literature, music, and building culture.

A series of interesting events awaits in the cultural arena, with Wolfgang Grader, Bamberg's Tibet expert, shedding light on the 90th birthday of the Dalai Lama, his life story, his commitment to human rights, and his own encounters with him. The popular "Bamberg Book Stories" series continues with virtual insights into the collections of the Bavarian State Library in Bamberg.

In a unique collaboration, "Smart Talks" will continue with a focus on digitalization in dementia and care. The three-part discourse workshop "Sustainable Development Interdisciplinary" will address current questions about democracy, climate protection, and "Work and Health".

In the spirit of early promotion and creative experiences, Young vhs offers new offerings like a bridge course and the workshop "Financially Fit for Career Entry". The series "In the Face of the Rubble: War's End and Democratic Reconstruction" continues, in cooperation with the Bamberg City Archives and the Historical Association.

New additions to the program include compact workshops on artificial intelligence in everyday life, office, and teaching, "German Walks" which combine city discovery with language practice, and an online Spanish course during the Christmas holidays.

Inclusive formats like a tour in easy language or a cathedral tour for visually impaired and blind people are also offered. A four-part film series on the theme "Encounter with the Stranger" will run at the Lichtspiel.

Health education remains a central offer of the vhs, with over 200 courses available. A moderated trial at the Bamberger Symphoniker offers a peek behind the scenes. In addition to classics like yoga, Pilates, or back training, there are new courses like HIT training at the Hain school or STRONG NationTM at the BasKIDhall.

Printed brochures for the complete new program are available for free at the Old E-Work and many distribution points in the city area from Thursday, August 28th. For those preferring an online format, the program will be available on the vhs-bamberg.de website from August 15th.

Lastly, a new project, "Waste on Stage", is a creative contribution to sustainability, ranging from sewing to prop making to stage production. The series "Much to tell", featuring John von Duffel reading from his own texts and discussing with vhs director Dr. Anna Scherbaum about the significance of literature and theater as a mirror of life, is another noteworthy event.

With over 800 courses, guided tours, lectures, and events, the vhs Bamberg City Adult Education Center promises an exciting and enriching winter semester 2025/26. Don't miss out on the opportunity to learn, explore, and grow!
