European Union's Commission unveils new plan to enhance the accuracy and reliability of shared data.

The online gaming landscape in Germany took an unexpected turn with the recent merger of CrazyBuzzer and SlotMagie, which took place on the night of 24th April 2025. The move brings these popular platforms under a German gambling license, a decision aimed at reducing user restrictions.

The merger comes in the wake of the data leak on both platforms in March 2025, resulting in temporary downtime. The software company The Mill Adventure Limited, responsible for the cybersecurity breach, was fined by the Joint Gambling Authority of the States (GGL).

Despite having a license for sports betting according to the GGL whitelist, sports betting will not initially be part of the SlotMagie offer. It remains unclear whether this is a temporary measure or a permanent change.

The merged platform is now operated by Solis Ortus Limited, a Maltese subsidiary of Merkur Group, which has invested significantly in sports sponsorship for CrazyBuzzer to establish the brand in the German market.

Users of both platforms will find their real money and bonus balances have been transferred to the new, merged account. There's an extra surprise waiting for them on the new platform, though details remain under wraps.

The license for the CrazyBuzzer website has been removed from the GGL whitelist, and anyone trying to log in to CrazyBuzzer is now informed to log in through SlotMagie. The exact reasons for the dissolution of CrazyBuzzer remain unclear.

The high costs of the German gambling license may have threatened the profitability of the parallel offers, given the strong competition among the strictly regulated legal providers on the German gambling market, exacerbated by the growing black market.

It is unclear if this is a consolidation measure, but what is certain is that the migration of customer data forms a crucial part of the transition. The success of this migration and the future safety of SlotMagie from further data breaches remain to be seen.

As the dust settles, one thing is clear: the merger of CrazyBuzzer and SlotMagie marks a significant shift in the German online gaming industry, and it will be fascinating to see how this evolves in the coming months.
